Project Description

A Land for Maine’s Future Program grant helped the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife acquire land alongside the Town of Princeton’s boat launch on Pocomoonshine Lake. The increased lake frontage will allow for parking and a turnaround at this popular sport fishing site, and will create safer opportunities for swimming (situated farther from the boat ramp).

Pocomoonshine Lake is considered one of Maine’s finest fisheries for both smallmouth and large bass, as well as white perch.

DeLorme Maine Atlas and Gazetteer Map 36, C-2. From Princeton, take Route 1 (Calais Road) south for 3 miles. Turn right on South Princeton Road and go 4 miles, taking a right on Lake Street. The site is at the end of Lake Street (0.25 miles).
